Partner-Group Decisions Workshop

Most partnerships have had the AI conversation informally. Someone’s tried something, someone else has concerns, and there’s no shared position on what the firm has actually decided. This workshop produces one.

Three questions get answered in the room:

• What is AI permitted to do inside this firm — and what is it not permitted to do?
• Who is accountable when an AI output is wrong and a client is affected?
• What stays human judgment, regardless of what the technology can do?

These are governance questions, not technology questions. They need to be answered by the people who run the firm, not delegated to an IT function.

The partner group, or the subset of it that sets firm policy. Practice management and risk leads where relevant. This is not a session for associates or technical staff — the decisions sit with the people who carry professional accountability.

A documented set of agreed positions on AI permissions, accountability and human judgment boundaries — the foundation for any AI policy or programme that follows. Not a slide deck of frameworks. Decisions the firm has actually made.

The workshop is the right first conversation for most firms. It surfaces disagreement that would otherwise emerge expensively mid-programme. It gives partners a shared language before any implementation starts. And for firms that go on to commission an AI Readiness Pre-Investment Review, it makes that work faster and more precise.
